Who we are
Bell Zinc & Copper Roofing is a family run business with more than 30 years in metal roofing. We work on everything from modern extensions to heritage restoration: domes, pyramids, spires, conversions and commercial buildings, from 10 square metres to over a thousand.
Every project is managed and completed by our own team. We bring folding and rolling machinery to site and form the panels there, which keeps the work accurate and the price sensible.
We work only in metal, so we know how each one behaves on a British roof and how it will look in ten years.
Warms and darkens with age
Copper starts bright and darkens over months to a deep brown, then slowly to green. Marks blend into the finish as it ages.
A soft grey that lasts
Zinc is a soft blue grey that dulls to a matt finish over time. Small scratches blend in with use. A good surface for a kitchen in daily use.
A warm gold finish
Brass has a warm gold colour. Left alone it deepens to an antique tone. Lacquered, it holds its shine. It sits well against dark timber and painted cabinets.
Hard wearing and easy to clean
Grade 304 stainless steel, folded and welded to commercial kitchen standard. Heat, acid and knives do not trouble it. Brushed, satin or hammered finishes.
What we do
Standing seam and flat lock zinc roofs in VMZINC, folded and formed on site by our own team. Anthracite, quartz, pigmento or natural mill finish.
Copper roofs, domes, spires and bay canopies. Copper starts bright, darkens to brown and weathers to a natural green over time.
PREFA and coated aluminium roofing and cladding. The lightest of the roofing metals, for structures that cannot carry a heavier one, in a full colour range.
Terne coated and plain stainless steel roofing. A strong choice for coastal and exposed sites, with a very long life and little upkeep.
Roof, walls, fascias, soffits, gutters and rainwater goods in one matching metal, detailed and fitted by one team.

How it works
We come out, get on the roof and measure properly. You get an honest view of what the building needs and which metal suits it.
A written quote that names the material, the system, the gauge and the finish. No hidden extras.
We bring the machinery to you and roll, fold and form the panels on site. It keeps lead times short and lets us fit awkward buildings properly.
The same team from start to finish. Nothing is subcontracted, so one firm is responsible for the whole job.
We walk the finished roof with you and explain how the metal will weather. If you need us afterwards, we are on the phone.

No. Much of our work is heritage: domes, spires, bay canopies and conservation dormers. The rest is modern extensions and new builds.
