Metal roofing in Surrey
Surrey keeps us busy with high specification domestic work. A lot of what we do here is rear extensions and garden rooms on substantial houses where the client has been shown a zinc roof by their architect and wants it done properly.
Working in Surrey
Surrey keeps us busy with high specification domestic work. A lot of what we do here is rear extensions and garden rooms on substantial houses where the client has been shown a zinc roof by their architect and wants it done properly.
We cover the county from the London fringe down to the Hampshire and Sussex borders, taking in Guildford, Woking, Esher, Cobham, Reigate and the villages between.
What Surrey throws at us
Large interwar and Arts and Crafts houses with complicated roofscapes, plenty of mock Tudor elevations where dormer cheeks need wrapping neatly, and a steady stream of glazed contemporary extensions where the roof has to be very slim and very flat. Conservation areas are common, so details often need agreeing before work starts.

Working with architects
More of our Surrey work comes through an architect than anywhere else we cover. That suits us. We would far rather see a drawing at design stage and flag the detail that will not work in metal than turn up on site and have that conversation with a builder who has already ordered the glazing. If your architect wants to talk it through before the tender goes out, we are happy to do that.
Surrey questions
Frequently. We are used to submitting details for approval and matching existing seam spacings and profiles where the planners require it. Terne coated stainless and pre weathered zinc are both often accepted where a bright covering would not be.
We will price the job properly and explain what is in it. If another quote is cheaper it is usually because something has been left out, and we will happily go through both with you line by line.
A lot of them, particularly in Surrey. A metal roof on a garden room is light, slim and will not need touching again, which is exactly what you want on a building at the bottom of the garden.
Thinking about a metal roof?
Send over a few details and we will come out, get on the roof and tell you honestly what it needs.
