Metal roofing in Essex

Essex is a Dartford Crossing away from the yard, which makes it a straightforward run for us despite being the other side of the river. We have worked the county for years.

Working in Essex

Essex is a Dartford Crossing away from the yard, which makes it a straightforward run for us despite being the other side of the river. We have worked the county for years.

The mix here leans more commercial than our other areas: units, offices and developments alongside the domestic extensions and dormers.

What Essex throws at us

A lot of newer housing stock around Chelmsford, Basildon and the commuter belt, weatherboarded cottages in the older villages, and Georgian and Victorian stock in Colchester and Saffron Walden. The estuary and the east coast bring salt into it, and the flat exposed sites out towards the coast bring wind uplift, both of which change the fixing specification.

Commercial and occupied buildings

More of our Essex work is commercial than anywhere else we cover, and commercial work has its own rules. The building is usually still in use, so we phase the strip so nothing is ever open to the weather overnight, and we work early, late or at weekends where the business cannot have us there in the middle of the day. None of that is unusual for us.

Essex questions

Yes, and a good share of our Essex work is commercial. Units, offices, developments and occupied buildings where we need to work around the business. We can work out of hours where that is what the job needs.

Usually. We phase the work so the roof is never left open, and we can start early or work weekends where that suits you better than a daytime disruption.

Not really. It is factored into how we plan the week, and it has never stopped us taking on Essex work. It does mean we tend to run Essex jobs in blocks rather than dipping in and out.

Send over a few details and we will come out, get on the roof and tell you honestly what it needs.
